The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate, Alhaji Isah Ashiru filed an application seeking a recount of the votes cast during the March 9 election in the state. El-Rufai, a candidate of the All Progressives Congress, polled total votes of 1,045,427 to defeat Ashiru who garnered 814,168 votes. 3 Ways To Handle Body Shaming

Image
September 09,2019 So many people have experienced being body-shamed at some point or another. This has affected the way some people view others, and  some have become strong and resilient based on these body-shaming experiences. Below are some ways to handle being body-shamed. It is more about them Often, people who body shame others reflect their states of mind. Some have lower self-esteem and this pushes them to act the way they do. It is therefore not about you but them; it is about their lower esteem they are trying hard to project to you. Remember that the shaming, cruel things another person says are about their own prejudices and misconceptions, not about who you are as a person. Though it might be the shamer’s intention to make you feel like crap, you don’t have to absorb their words, take them seriously, or think about them for any longer than the moment. Speak out As stated earlier, some people might not know they are body-shaming or hurting you. Call the bully and let

The name of Barrister Enamhe DORNCKLAIMZ , the Cross river state born Lawyer and Politician , He is a household name in Global political records as the “report of fashion in proud Italy”. Lagos budget is not on ministry's website three months after Governor's approval

Image
September 05,2019 Three months after Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, signed the 2019 budget into law, the state’s financial plan is yet to be made available on the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget’s website. This is contrary to the tradition where the budget is usually uploaded on the ministry’s website for public knowledge, which breaks a decade’s tradition of having the state’s budget online, although details are usually not available compared to the Federal Government’s budget put online. Unlike the Federal Government’s website where details of financial plans are provided on the budget office website, only summaries have been made available online in the Lagos budgets from 2008 to 2018. Therefore, Lagos citizens now clamour for details of the state budget on the ministry’s site, but it seems civil society groups and some residents who have been agitating for details of Lagos budget may need to double their efforts and fight for better transparency under th

Family ties, others shape Kogi PDP guber primaries’ contest September 02,2019 Barring any unforeseen hitches, the party’s candidate will emerge tomorrow from the exercise billed for the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja, the state capital. The contest for PDP’s ticket comes as a tight one that is hard to predict. It is one characterised by rivals with family ties. Interestingly, it is a contest among a former governor, a former governor’s son, a former governor’s in-law, and a former governor’s brother. However, amidst the anxiety, the process so far has been devoid of acrimony and crisis. A seating senator, Dino Melaye, currently locked in a legal battle to retain his seat, is also on the roll call of aspirants to watch in the contest of the main opposition party in Kogi State. The aspirants were penultimate week screened by a committee headed by the Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku, at Legacy House, PDP presidential campaign office in Maitama, Abuja. The 13 aspirants cleared to
