Thailand gets new Prime Minister June 5 May 31,2019 (Xinhua/NAN) Thailand is scheduled to pick a new prime minister on June 5, Chuan Leekpai, speaker of the House of Representatives, said on Friday. “All MPs and senators will convene in a joint House of Representatives & Senate meeting to vote for the prime minister,’’ Chuan said at a press conference. The voting will be openly conducted on a roll call basis. Earlier, Thailand’s Royal Gazette website issued two Royal Announcements, saying King Maha Vajiralongkorn has formally approved the naming of a House Speaker, two Deputy House Speakers, a Senate Speaker and two Deputy Senate Speakers. 30,000 teachers to write professional exam – TRCN May 31,2019 By Okeoghene Akubuike The Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) says it is set to hold the May diet of the Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE) for teachers nationwide between June 7 and 8. The Registrar of the council, Prof. Josiah Ajiboye, said this during a world news briefing in Abuja on Friday. Ajiboye said that no fewer than 30,000 prospective teachers would write the computer-based examination in 50 centres nationwide. ‎ “About 30,000 would-be teachers across the states of the federation and the FCT have registered for the examination. ”The examination would hold on Saturday, June 8 in all the states of the federation and the FCT except in states like Bauchi, Kaduna and Kano where the examination will start on Friday, June 7 because of the large number of candidates. “Our technical officers are being prepared and have been trained in preparation for the examination. ...

SanwoOlu Issues First Executive Order, Extends LASTMA's Working Hours To 11 p.m. May 31,2019 The Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday signed his first Executive Order to address traffic control and management, fixing of potholes on the roads, sanitation as well as cleaning of drainages in the State. TRAGIC! Seven Dead, Nineteen Still Missing In Boat Crash In Budapest May 30,2019 Seven people dead while 19 are still missing in Budapest.  A sightseeing boat identified as "Hableany" 33 passengers and two crew member crashed and sank in a river in Budapest. The boat was carrying tourist from Korea when it hit another vessel and sunk.  Seven people have been rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment. Employees from the Korean Embassy have been assisting in identifying those rescued and the deceased.   The boat is said to have been on a routine sightseeing trip and has no record of any technical problems.
