Those who spoke with AIT in Abuja, the nation’s capital observed that the late vice president made immense contributions to nation building and as such deserves to be immortalized. This is one of the busiest routes in Abuja the Nigerian capital. The street which transverses the two districts of Jabi and Kado the now late former vice President, Alex Ekwueme. Nigerians who have watched political developments in the country describe him as a true democrat. Other Nigerians especially those who attended the night of tribute in honour of the late vice president in Abuja, say his leadership style is one all Nigerian leaders must learn from. Only a street is named after the late former vice president in the city of Abuja that he is credited to have as a top grade architect contributed to its design. The Nigerian senate in a resolution on November 21, 2017 added its voice to the call for the immortalization of Ekwueme who will be buried on February 2, 2018.
