FG Releases New Age Classification, 15-year-old Now To Be Regarded As Youth. May 30,2019 The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung has released a new age classification in Nigeria. At the launch of the Revised National Youth Policy, 2019 which took place in Akure, Ondo State on May 24th,  Dalung, in a foreword presented at the launch, disclosed that the age bracket for the classification of youth in Nigeria has been reviewed downward from 18 – 35 years to 15 – 29 years. Dalung in his foreword, stated that the age classification had to be reviewed downward so that every federal government intervention programmes designed for youths will get to the youths themselves and not adults masquerading as youth. According to the Minimum Age Convention (1973), the general minimum age for admission to employment or work in Nigeria is 15 years.  The United Nations defines ‘youth’ as persons between the ages of 15 and 24 years.

US energy official rebrands fossil fuels 'freedom gas' May 30, 2019 US energy officials appeared to rebrand natural gas produced in the country as "freedom gas", in a statement announcing an increase in exports. The US Department of Energy said the expansion of a Texas facility meant more "molecules of US freedom" could be produced and exported worldwide. The facility, based in Quintana, produces liquified natural gas (LNG). The move was a clear indication of US commitment to promoting clean energy, the statement said. But the rebranding comes amid a Trump administration push to roll back climate change legislation introduced by Mr Trump's predecessor, Barack Obama, which targeted vehicle emissions. Court Removes Regina Daniels' Billionaire Husband Ned Nwoko As Senator-elect May 30,2019 The  Abuja Court of Appeal has removed Ned Nwoko as the senator representing Delta-north. The billionaire husband of 18-year-old Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels was hitherto pronounced senator after an Abuja high court sacked Peter Nwaoboshi, a serving senator, as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the October 2 primary election that held in Delta. The 59-year-old politician had filed a suit challenging the election of Nwaoboshi who won the primary and went ahead to clinch the senatorial seat. The high court held that Nwaoboshi was not the duly elected candidate of the PDP in the primary election and directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to publish the name of Nwoko as PDP candidate. Administrative Staff of Delta State Polytechnic Shot Six Times By Gunmen In Delta State ( PHOTOS ) May 30,2019 A middle-aged man identified as John Chukwudi was shot dead at the Polytechnic community of Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State. He was shot six times at a relaxation spot. He was a senior administrative staff of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku.
